PawPort Doginal Bridge Step-by-Step Guide: Bridge DRC20 Tokens From Dogecoin to Dogechain In a Few Minutes
Dogecoin enthusiasts have a new exciting tool: the PawPort Doginal Bridge, constructed by Dogechain.
The Doginal bridge allows the transfer of DRC-20 tokens to the Dogechain blockchain by wrapping them into a compatible format for use in the Dogechain ecosystem.
This process enables users to access various decentralized applications (dApps) available within the Dogechain ecosystem with these tokens. It can use them in yield farming, staking, lending protocols, etc., to earn additional rewards.
For a full detailed explanation of the PawPort Doginals Bridge, read this article.
If you’re looking to explore this new frontier, this is a comprehensive guide for you on how to use the PawPort Doginal Bridge on Dogechain.
Guide to Using the PawPort Bridge
Step 1: Own a Non-custodial Wallet.
Before trying to gain access to the Doginal Bridge, you need to have access to your non-custodial wallet. You can use any that accepts custom EVM-compatible chains.
For this guide, I’ll be referring to MetaMask, which is the most popularly known.
● Install the MetaMask extension for your browser or the iOS or Android mobile app.
● If you are new to MetaMask, create a new wallet by following the setup prompts.
● Make sure you store your seed phrase for immediate recall.
Step 2: Add Dogechain to Wallet
To interact with Dogechain, you need to add it as a custom network in your MetaMask.
● Click on the MetaMask icon in your mobile app or browser.
● Click on the network dropdown at the top of the MetaMask interface.
● Select “Add Network” and input the details below:
○ Network Name: Dogechain
○ RPC URL: https://rpc.dogechain.dog
○ Chain ID: 2000
○ Currency Symbol: wDOGE
○ Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.dogechain.dog
Note: wDOGE is wrapped DOGE which is the gas token of Dogechain.
You can go on to add $DC, the governance token of Dogechain by clicking “Add token” and inputting this:
○ Token Ticker: DC
○ Contract Address: 0x7B4328c127B85369D9f82ca0503B000D09CF9180
○ Decimals: 18
Step 3: Get wDOGE for Gas Fees
● Buy $DOGE on the Dogecoin network in a centralized exchange — Binance, preferably.
● Go to Dogechain $DOGE native bridge and connect your wallet. This will reveal the address you are to send your $DOGE on the exchange.
● Copy the address, go to the exchange, and deposit your $DOGE into the address. (Make sure you deposit a minimum of 100 $DOGE. Any less, your $DOGE would be lost)
● You will receive your wDOGE in your wallet in a few minutes.
Step 4: Get DRC-20 Tokens
● Download the DRC20-compatible wallet extension on your Chrome, Doge Labs Wallet, to interact with the Dogecoin blockchain.
● Send some $DOGE from the exchange to the wallet. This is what you would use to buy Doginals.
● Go to the DRC-20 marketplace and purchase either of these tokens: DOGI, FIWB, PEPE, MUSK, OINK, DCEX, DALL, X, RSTX, VONX, DBIT, ARMZ, CDH, DNLD, PACA, WUUW, GO, DPAY, X1×2, DFAT.
Step 5: Bridge DRC-20 Tokens to Dogechain
● Go to the PawPort Doginals Bridge and connect your DogeLabs wallet.
● Choose the DRC20 token you want to bridge.
● Click the “Transfer” button.
● Choose the inscription you would like to bridge over. If you have not inscribed your tokens, you can use the built-in inscription tool.
● After selecting your inscription, press “Confirm” and sign the transaction in your Dogelabs wallet.
● Once the transaction is confirmed, go to the “History” page. After a few minutes, your balance will show up with a button that says “Mint”.
● Now, enter the address of your Dogechain wallet where you want to send the bridged DRC20 tokens.
● Click on “Mint”, then sign and confirm the transaction through your MetaMask wallet.
Note: You have to add the DRC20 Token you bridged to your MetaMask.
Find its contract address by searching on Dexscreener and add it as a custom token in your MetaMask wallet (ensure you are on the Dogechain network).
Step 6: Trading and Liquidity
You can create a trading pair or find an existing one (like ARMZ/WDOGE) on QuickSwap.
Swap your DRC20 tokens, add liquidity to a pool, or even create your pool on QuickSwap.
Smart Notes
Before we go, here are the swift notes we need to go with.
- Always double-check URLs and ensure you are using the official sources. Be wary of phishing sites. Only interact with trusted platforms I have provided in links in this article.
- Check the gas fees for transactions on Dogechain. These fees can vary, so it is best to be aware of the current rates before making large transactions.
- Ensure you have enough DOGE in your wallet to cover both the amount you want for every transaction.
- Back up your wallet and store your seed phrases to ensure you can recover your assets if anything goes wrong. Hopefully not.
- Finally, before engaging with new dApps or smart contracts on the Dogechain, do some research to understand their functionality and risks.
Whether you are a seasoned crypto or Dogecoin enthusiast or just a newcomer, Dogechain offers a plethora of opportunities to explore and grow your digital assets.
